T.B: From Shadows to Shutdowns
Share
T.B*, born Johnny Dupree III, is more than just another name rising in the Connecticut underground—he’s the architect behind some of its most electrifying moments. Known by friends as Tray, T.B is not just an artist—he’s a curator, a performer, a shadowy showman moving between town lines and soundwaves with an unshakable vision.

Young Tray
Raised between East Hartford, New Britain, Hartford, and Windsor, Tray was an extroverted kid with a taste for cartoons that shaped his surrealist leanings: South Park, Gravity Falls, Regular Show, and Gumball.

His world’s always had layers—and now, so does his sound. It all began at Windsor High in 2023, where an idea sparked after a conversation and his first solo show (Windsor High) hosted with the help his teacher, Mr. Nolan. That idea turned into Summer Shutdown, now a cornerstone of the local scene.

With the help of his friend Jason, T.B's first major show was thrown at the Dog House in East Hartford. The lineup? Legendary for a debut: Montana 99, Himself, Nardi Wonderland, Spliffymars, KaeSav, MGuapo, and more. August 13th was the day the scene got louder.

Creatively, T.B’s collaborations run deep. His work with artists in 2023 like Blackedy (whom he worked with at Amazon), Blisofly, Lil Keel, Rekover Jet, Yunososa and close allies Marsii and Sookwyd, have helped shape his sound.
2024
But the momentum didn’t stop there. In 2024, T.B leveled up again with FGG (For Greater Glory); Collective started by Producer Ksavvdaplug —a movement, not just a moment, for Shutdown CT, Performing alongside the likes of Baretta (NJ), Yourstepdad (Chicago), and his CT comrades StarMarsii, Night, and Y2KVito at the Webster Theater, he reminded the city: he’s not a guest in the spotlight—he owns it.

T.B turned heads with a Halloween aesthetic drenched in horror-core visuals, nodding to favorites like The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Ring.

He doubled down with a deluxe titled Terluxx (April 2024), adding six new tracks and throwing a listening party powered by Shutdown the very next day. It’s clear: T.B doesn’t just drop albums. He builds experiences.

But what sets T.B apart isn’t just his network—it’s his vision. In March 2025, he dropped his personal favorite project to date: Nightmare, a 15-track sonic trip through distortion, anxiety, and ambition. Produced primarily by Spooky, Nightmare features heavy-hitters like “Nightmare,” “Anxiety” and the viral “Cursed Crosses".

Party Drugs
The album was a direct evolution from his 2024 EP Party Drugs, where he first began leaning into vibes and melodic contrast. Fan-favorite “Luv Drank” still rings off like an old voicemail you can’t delete.

Behind the scenes, his tight circle plays key roles—Jryco, his manager and videographer, helps shape the visuals; TbhurCoolVan assists with events and logistics. And now, with over 200 unreleased songs ready for detonation, he’s plotting the arrival of the Anarchy Era—an era defined by cult energy, archive drops, and a sharpened discography built on chaos and cohesion alike.
