StarMarsii: CT's New Symbol

StarMarsii: CT's New Symbol

In the heart of Connecticut’s underground rap scene, where creativity is currency and individuality reigns supreme, a new name echoes through dim-lit venues: StarMarsii* Born (Yaw Asiedu-Konadu), Marsii is not just another rapper—he’s a living symbol of transformation, a medium between art, emotion, and sound. His name has become increasingly familiar in Connecticut, even attracting the likes of ProbablyRated, The states go-to forum for rising talent.....and it's of no surprise—his trajectory is magnetic.

Whats Next For Marsii?

His upcoming EP, Blinding Lights and Shattered Hell (June 20th), mixed and mastered by Sound Engineer: Dillon Mosca and Marsii himself, is a raw, cinematic soundscape—balancing vulnerability with visual sound design. Marsii also is moving in tight orbit with his manager Jryco and close collaborator T.B, to light up local stages like Summer Shutdown (Webster Theater. Hartford, Ct. July 18thWhere his ethereal energy and magnetic awkwardness make him unforgettable. Besides his EP and Rocking out, He is currently working overtime on an album called Heaven and Stereo with about 15 tracks in length, and countless hours put in; It’s sure to be his most experimental endeavor so far. Who is StarMarsii?

Much like Playboi Carti's symbolic mystique—but with a more intentional artistic edge—Marsii doesn't just create music, he embodies an aesthetic. Raised in a household steeped in structure—his father, an architect, left out more than just blueprints. Growing up surrounded by stencils and schematic layouts it sparked a lifelong passion for visual storytelling, helping Marsii channel his struggles with anxiety into a vibrant, multi-sensory outlet.

A Chill Guy

An introvert at heart, Marsii spends his downtime with friends on Discord, catching shows, experimenting with VFX and diving deep into the soundtracks of his childhood. He’s a big fan of video game OSTs, often pulling inspiration from the nostalgic and atmospheric worlds of Kirby, Zelda, and more. These sonic textures bleed into his own work, giving his music an almost otherworldly feel. He’s also a visual director, creating compelling visuals for his collective FGG, founded by his older cousin Ksavvdaplug. Notably, Marsii directed and gave creative insight on the "Push Push" music video for T.B, a gritty and atmospheric piece that highlights his evolving eye as much as his ear. Video shot by fellow creatives Jryco and Kei.

There’s something ineffable about Marsii—part digital ghost, part cultural architect. He isn’t just another SoundCloud rapper; he’s a translator of emotion, a builder of bridges between worlds: art, sound, solitude, and community.

StarMarsii isn’t trying to be understood. He’s trying to be felt. And in Connecticut’s creative underground, that makes him a star.
